The State Bar of Michigan and the Michigan State Bar Foundation, in their annual report highlighting the work done through the Access To Justice Campaign, recognized Altior Law for its contributions to that campaign. The ATJ Campaign supports low-income individuals and families in Michigan who would not otherwise have access to an attorney. In 2019, the ATJ Campaign distributed a record 1.8 million dollars to the legal aid programs in Michigan. In turn, those legal aid offices handled approximately 50,000 cases last year, with a disproportionate number for people of color. Those cases involved preventing evictions and foreclosures, safely escaping abusive relationships, reinstituting necessary health and income benefits, and removing barriers to employment. The Michigan State Bar Foundation reported that 97,240 children and adults in Michigan benefitted from the help of a legal aid attorney in 2019. Altior Law was proud to continue its support for this important program.
